Growing Aristea
Summer rhizome. Deciduous. Stands to 2 ft. (60 cm) tall. Straplike, shiny green leaves, to 2 ft. (60 cm) long, in basal rosettes.
Aristea ecklonii ‘Sonja’, with larger blooms, is a commonly cultivated cultivar.

Late spring–early autumn. Blue, blue violet. Multiple simple, 6-petaled flowers, 3/4–1‑in. (19–25‑mm) wide, on branching sprays.
