Growing Naked Lily
Autumn bulb. Deciduous. About 11 species. Stands to 2 ft. (60 cm) tall. Narrow, straplike, midlength green leaves usually appear after bloom.

Late summer–autumn. Pink, red, white, yellow. Flared, trumpetlike, sometimes fragrant flowers, to 3 in. (75 mm) long, with extended stamens.

Moderate–challenging. Keep moist autumn–spring, dry in summer. Fertilize during growth. Propagate by offsets, seed. Best left undisturbed. Reliable blooms require summer heat.

About This Species
Good choice for borders, containers, mixed plantings in meadow, rock gardens. Plant with ornamental grasses, ferns to provide foliage backdrop. Lycoris radiate naturalizes. Deer, rodent resistant.
