Growing Zephyr Lily
Summer bulb. Deciduous or semi-evergreen, depending on species. About 40 species. Stands to 1 ft. (30 cm) tall. Grasslike, arching, gray green leaves, 4–24 in. (10–60 cm) long.

Flowers
Summer–autumn. Pink, red, white, yellow. Solitary simple or lilylike flowers, 2–4 in. (50–100 mm) wide, with long, narrow, radiating, flared, oval petals. Some species are night blooming.

Proper Care
Easy. Keep moist during growth. Withhold water for one month following bloom; resume watering for repeat bloom. Fertilize during growth. Mulch, zones 7–8. Propagate by offsets, seed.

Dark, 50–60°F (10–16°C), in net bag or open basket of dry peat moss.
About This Species
Good choice for accents, beds, containers, edgings, mixed plantings in meadow, natural, rock gardens. Naturalizes, zones 9–11. Deer, rodent and pest, disease resistant.
