Growing Chinese Pistache Trees
A few cultivars of medium- to slow-growing, upright, round-crowned, open becoming dense, deciduous trees, to 60 ft. (18 m) tall, with shiny, frondlike, deep green leaves, 1 ft. (30 cm) long, divided into 6–10-paired, lance-shaped leaflets, to 2-1/2 in. (63 mm) long, turning orange, red in autumn, and with pinkish gray, flaking bark.

Insignificant flowers in spring form round, red turning black, leathery, clustered fruit on female trees in summer, to 1-1/2 in. (38 mm) wide, containing seed. Choose fruitless male cultivars to reduce maintenance.
