Growing Stewartia Trees
A few species of slow-growing, spreading, pyramid-shaped becoming round-crowned, open, deciduous, shrubby trees, 10–25 ft. (3–7.5 m) tall, with shiny, deep green, oval, pointed, toothed leaves, 2–4 in. (50–100 mm) long, turning orange, red, yellow in autumn, and with flaking, red brown turning white bark.

Single, camellia-like, white, wavy-edged, orange-centered flowers, 2–3 in. (50–75 mm) wide, in summer, form woody, brown, oval capsules containing wingless seed, in autumn.
