Growing Florist’s Chrysanthemum
Thousands of varied hybrid cultivars of upright, mounding, deciduous perennial herbs, 1–6 ft. (30–180 cm) tall. Leathery, textured, gray green, thick, oval to lance-shaped, coarsely toothed, fragrant leaves, to 1 ft. (30 cm) long, with gray undersides.
Dwarf cultivars available.

Blooms
Showy, bronze, cream, lavender, orange, pink, purple, white, multicolored flowers, 2–6 in. (50–150 mm) wide, some with contrasting centers, in summer–autumn. Common cultivars include such flower forms as anemone-like, dahlialike, pompon, quilled, reflexed, single, spiderlike, and spooned, with many variations.

Hardy. Zones 4–10.
Soil Type and Fertility
Moist to damp, well-drained soil. Fertility: Rich–average. 7.0 pH.
Where and How to Plant
Spring in full sun to partial shade, 2–4 ft. (60–120 cm) apart, depending on hybrid.
