Growing Water Figwort
Several cultivars of erect, shrublike, evergreen perennial herbs, 2–3 ft. (60–90 cm) tall. Textured, green, sometimes cream-edged, oval or lance-shaped, pointed, curving, very fragrant leaves, 2–10 in. (50–250 mm) long.

Blooms
Many greenish purple, upturned, pitcher-shaped, 2-lipped flowers, 1/2–3/4‑in. (12–19‑mm) long, in summer–early autumn. Grown primarily for foliage.
Best Climates
Semi-hardy. Self-seeding. Zones 5–10.
Soil Type and Fertility
Moist, well-drained soil or, in water features, shallow-depth marginal or shoreline sites. Fertility: Average. 6.0–8.0 pH.
Where and How to Plant
