Growing Yellow Jessamine
Several cultivars of fast-growing, branching, vining, woody, semi-tropical, evergreen shrubs, to 15 ft. (4.5 m) tall and wide, with shiny, deep bright-green, shiny, lance-shaped leaves, in opposite, 2–4-paired leaflets, to 3 in. (75 mm) long.
Yellow jessamine is native to mild-winter areas across the U.S. South from Florida to Texas, Mexico, and Central America.
Flowers and Fruit
Solitary, very fragrant, yellow, rounded and cup- or bell-shaped, 5-petaled flowers, to 1 in. (25 mm) wide, in early spring, develop inconspicuous seed-bearing fruit following bloom.
