Growing Cliff-Green
Two species of slow-growing, low, spreading, evergreen shrubs, to 1 ft. (30 cm) tall and 3 ft. (90 cm) wide, with shiny, deep green, leathery, oval, rounded, finely toothed leaves, 1/2–3/4‑in. (12–19-mm) long, turning bronze in autumn.

Flowers and Seeds
Many tiny, red brown, white, round, 4-petaled flowers, to 1/8‑in. (3-mm) wide, in spring, form dry, segmented capsules containing lobed seed, in summer.

Soil Type and Fertility
Moist to damp, well-drained, sandy humus. Fertility: Rich–average. 6.0–7.0 pH.

Easy. Keep damp; allow soil surface to dry between waterings. Fertilize every 2 months. Prune in spring before growth begins. Protect from sun in hot-summer climates. Propagate by cuttings, division, layering, seed.
About This Species
