Growing Dwarf Morning Glory
Many cultivars of upright, spreading or trailing annual herbs, to 1 ft. (30 cm) tall and 2 ft. (60 cm) wide. Smooth, deep green, lance-shaped, pointed leaves, to 3 in. (75 mm) long.
Common cultivars include Convolvulus tricolor ‘Blue Ensign’, ‘Blue Flash’, ‘Dwarf Rainbow Flash’, and ‘Royal Ensign’.

Blooms
Many mostly bright blue, pink, purple, round, open, slightly cone-shaped flowers, to 1-1/2-in. (38-mm) wide, with white, yellow contrasts and centers, often as triplets, in spring–summer.
Best Climates
Self-seeding, zones 2–10.
Soil Type and Fertility
Damp to dry, well-drained, sandy soil. Fertility: Average–low. 6.5–7.5 pH.
Where and How to Plant
Spring in full sun, 1 ft. (30 cm) apart, after soil warms. Start seed indoors 6 weeks before final frost for early blooms; transplant when frost hazard has passed.
Proper Care
Easy. Keep damp; allow soil surface to dry between waterings. Avoid fertilizing. Propagate by seed.
About This Plant
Good choice for borders, containers, edgings, massed plantings in arid, heritage, rock, seaside gardens. Invasive. Pest and disease resistant.
